Biography & Booking Information
Doug Wollman. Gifted composer. Talented keyboardist. Visionary Leader. Caring husband to his wife Stacey and their four children Dylan, Shelby, Whitney and Nathan. All of the above phrases give you a word picture of this man who is passionate about his faith, family and music.
It is Doug's strong family ties and spiritual commitment that shaped his life from an early age. Born and raised in South Dakota, much of his inspiration comes for the beauty of creation and his deep love for his state and country. Doug began to nurture his God given music ability early on in his life. His parents recognized his musical talents and supported his desire to play the keyboard. Doug played weekly in his home church's worship band, performed at local events and venues, traveled with the WRECK youth band. In 2002 he joined singer/song writer
Ken Verheecke with Wind and Wheat Music, touring across the United States adding his keyboard gifts to the inspiring acoustic sound of Ken. He recently lent his talents to Ken Verheeke's
Heartcall Music release "Taken by the Wind...songs of intimate worship vol. 2." Doug has an innate ability to create and set different moods with his music. He uses the Korg Triton Pro as his instrument of Praise. He acknowledges God who has given him the ability to write and compose and it is Doug's desire to give it all back to God. Doug's Debut release on Wind and Wheat Music is titled "Face of the Deep" is an instrumental recording that celebrates the beauty of creation. "Face of the Deep" is sure to encourage, uplift and touch you deep within your heart. The
following is an alternate approach I put together for my biography:
Doug
Wollman...Biography Information
Doug Wollman.
Doug is a lifelong resident of
South Dakota
. He is a caring husband to his lovely wife Stacey and a father to
four wonderful children. As
for his interaction with music, Doug has always enjoyed and loved
playing the piano, even at a very early age…as portrayed in the
above photo. Musical involvement within church settings, many piano
lessons, performing in various bands, and a keen interest in music and
improvisation all helped pave the way to bring Doug to a place where
he would decide to produce his first two instrumental albums “Face
of the Deep” and “Awakening of Dreams”.
Doug’s friend Ken Verheecke (www.kvmusic.net)
helped Doug with some of the production on “Face of the Deep”. He
mainly just brought out the best in Doug by giving a red or green
light with the technical issues of music and recording. Ken also added
a few tasty guitar licks to three of the twelve tracks on “Face of
the Deep”. “Awakening
of Dreams” features Doug entirely on his own as a self-producer.
This album, like “Face of the Deep” also features Doug as a
pianist, perhaps with an electronic-based edge, with plenty of synth-texturing,
new-age elements at times, blended with an attitude of jazz-fusion to
match. Doug’s advice is that if you want to understand more about
what his music sounds like, then listening to it will probably offer a
much better example than his best written description. However, here
are some of the thoughts Doug has given pertaining to his music.

DOUG WOLLMAN: Awakening of Dreams
Spacey yet militant. Soothing yet revitalizing. See what blend
of colors you hear emerging within the sonic realm of the
electro-acoustic world. Allow the artist to paint a portrait
within your imagination. A twist of electronic...a touch of
traditional. From dark shadows of the night to positive
exposures of morning light…experience the transformation of a
piano-driven pilgrimage. Instrumental music expressing the call
to dance away from the shifting shadows into a place from where
you will not want to leave.

DOUG WOLLMAN: Face of the Deep
Instrumental music inspired by the sights and sounds of
creation...pondering the depths of the ocean to the simplicity
of the prairie. Featuring piano at the forefront. This music
induces change internally & externally. Find yourself
pondering the beauty of creation & the One who breathes life
into dead circumstances. Find yourself seeing things differently
than before. Ponder, listen and learn. Keyboard/piano-based with
percussion and a few arpeggiation loops. Check it out for
yourself. A lot of positive comments on this album!

DOUG WOLLMAN: Christmas
An assortment of instrumental and vocal
selections sure to inspire the listener to allow the Christmas
Spirit to enter in. It’s piano-based for certain…but isn’t
that a “given” with Doug’s music? This particular approach
is a little more organic than Doug’s previous material,
although there are places that come through loud and clear that
feature the electronic-realm pivoting with unplugged realism.

KEN VERHEECKE: Taken by the Wind >>> (Doug’s First
Co-Production Effort) **
Doug co-produced his friend Ken Verheecke. On this album Ken,
more typically known for being a folk artist, reveals the
electronic-ambient side of himself. The folk remains amid the
other electronic elements of the music. Well, some of it
does. This was something Ken had always wanted to do. Check
out Ken’s music at www.kvmusic.net
or windnadwheatmusic.com.

KEN VERHEECKE: The Whisper for Peace
>>> (Doug’s Second Co-Production Effort)
Doug co-produced his friend Ken Verheecke on three of the songs
on this soon to be released recording…available very soon.
Look for a 2005 Spring release... containing band arrangements
(Doug’s part of the production), solo voice & guitar
pieces as well as solo instrumental songs. This album’s vibe
& feel remains focused amid the assortment of songs, all
intimate and heart-warming.

"Whisper for Peace" and the "Taken be the
Wind" links are not currently available. You may be
